Hi [FIRSTNAME],

Welcome to the Fall edition of the Military Surplus News, the website newsletter from Billings Army Navy Surplus Store, Inc. The largest genuine military retailer in the Northwest.

Gear for the Fall Outdoors

With Fall fast approaching, thoughts of hunting and cooler weather are first-most in everyone’s minds. We have a never-ending selection of unique, practical, and original military offerings to start another season.

Most notably, are the English military camp kitchens. They are used excellent and complete with all the necessities to cook for an entire troop. Add one of these to your hunting camp or lodge (a complete description is available on the website, quantities are limited).

Swedish military aluminum snowshoesAnother great item comes from the Swedish military. They are new Swedish military aluminum snowshoes, complete with adjustable bindings. This snowshoe is built with a 400 pound weight capacity. I realize winter is still in the future, but better grab them while we have them. Use them for snowshoeing, hunting, or strap a set on a snowmobile, just in case! These are being offered at a special price of $129.95 compare at $300.00. The quality is unbelievable.

Take a look at our selection of wool blankets. They range anywhere from $9.95 to $49.95 and lots of colors and weights. The Russian grey wool blanket is an exceptional value at $19.95.

US Army extreme weather sleeping bagPerhaps the best value in the store is the US Army extreme cold weather sleeping bag. This is the 40 below mummy bag with a heavy canvas outer. These sleeping bags are used excellent and are half price through September, or as quantities last. Normally $99.95, now $50.00. This is the ideal hunting, survival, or winter camping bag. Take one to hunting camp or toss one in the trunk of the car.

Military Essentials

A new feature to our newsletter is a column we call military essentials. These four items are practical, inexpensive and indispensable.

  • The first one is US Army Trioxane originally designed to heat rations, this has proven to be the best fire starter on the market. It comes three bars to a box and retails for $1.95. Use it start a campfire, your fireplace, or woodstove. Just a little piece makes fire-starting a flash.
  • Parachute CordThe second item is US Army parachute cord. It is sometimes called 550 cord, it is 100% braided nylon and comes in a variety of colors and lengths. On special we have 21 foot lengths in olive drab for $1.50, and white for $1.95. Throw it in your backpack, hunting gear, survival equipment or anywhere a length of rope might be needed.
  • Perhaps the best item our military services have ever had is the P-38 and P-51 can openers. They are easy to use, inexpensive, and a great part of our history. At $.50 and $1.00 each-grab a handful.
  • And last take a look at our giant selection of Ammo cans. These boxes are air-tight, water-tight and make great storage!
